Reviewing your membership roll
Go through your members one by one, every year or every few years.
Who can do this: Administrators turn it on. Anyone who can edit people can do the review.
Many denominations ask churches to review their roll regularly. Methodist churches do it every year, the Church of Scotland at 31 December and many Baptist churches every three years.
Step 1: Turn it on
Go to People, then Roll review. Choose how often, tick the statuses that make up your roll, such as Member, and choose when the next review is due. Administrators get an email 30 days before.
Step 2: Check each person
Choose Start the review. For each person, choose Still a member, or Change status to move them to another status, such as Inactive. Each choice is saved straight away, so you can stop and carry on later.
Step 3: Finish
When everyone’s been checked, choose Finish the review. It records who did it and when, and sets the next review due.
What happens next
The review keeps your roll up to date here. It doesn’t replace any register or return your denomination asks for.
