How Do I Make a Gift Aid Declaration Online?
Most churches and charities let you make a declaration on their website, often by ticking a box when you give online. The form will ask for your full name, home address and postcode. It will also explain that you must pay enough UK tax to cover the Gift Aid.
You can also declare by email, as long as it includes the same details and wording.
The church must keep the online record as evidence. Simply typing your details into a database isn’t enough. If you make a declaration over the phone instead, the church must send you a written confirmation, and you can cancel within 30 days.
