When tax was claimed by mistake
Record over-claimed Gift Aid so it comes off your next claim.
Who can do this: Administrators and treasurers
Step 1: Record the over-claim
Sometimes you find tax was claimed that wasn’t due, for example because a giver had stopped paying tax. Go to Gift Aid. Under Over-claimed tax, type the amount of tax and why, then choose Record over-claim.

Open a larger view (opens in a new tab) Step 2: It comes off your next claim
The amount is taken off your next claim, as HMRC asks. You’ll see it in the claim before you prepare it.
What happens next
Also cancel the giver’s declaration from the right date, so the same thing doesn’t happen again.
