The Small Donations Scheme top-up
Claim on loose cash and contactless gifts of £30 or less, with no declaration.
Who can do this: Administrators and treasurers
The Small Donations Scheme (GASDS) lets you claim a top-up on cash and contactless gifts of £30 or less, up to £8,000 of gifts a year. You can only claim on up to 10 times the Gift Aid gifts you claim on in the same year.
Step 1: Record loose cash as small gifts
In a batch, choose Anonymous / loose cash with the method Cash or Contactless. Tick Every gift in this was £30 or less so it counts towards the scheme.
Step 2: Include it in your claim
When you make a claim, leave Include the Small Donations Scheme top-up ticked. The top-up is worked out for you, within the allowance and the 10 times limit.
What happens next
If you share the allowance with a connected charity, lower it in Gift Aid → Settings. Our guide The Small Donations Scheme for churches explains the rules.
