Collecting in more than one church building
Up to £8,000 of the Small Donations Scheme for each building.
Who can do this: Administrators and treasurers
If your church takes collections in more than one building, each building can count for up to £8,000 of small cash and contactless gifts. You can add up to 15 buildings, at no extra cost.
Step 1: Add your buildings
Go to Gift Aid, then Settings. Under Church buildings, add each building’s name, and its postcode if you have it, then choose Add building.

Open a larger view (opens in a new tab) Step 2: Choose the building for each collection
Once you have two or more buildings, a Which building? box appears when you open a batch. Choose where the collection was taken. You can change it later on the batch page.

Open a larger view (opens in a new tab) Step 3: Claim as usual
Make your Gift Aid claim in the normal way. If counting each building gives more than £8,000, the claim uses it and lists each building’s amount, ready for the community buildings part of Charities Online.
What happens next
A building counts if it holds at least 6 services or events a year, each with 10 or more people. The total is still limited to 10 times the Gift Aid gifts you claim on in the same tax year.
